Veteran and travel nurse sets off to work in the COVID units!

Veteran and Travel Nurse Who Keeps Going!

William, “Bill,” is a veteran who worked for the federal government for many years and US Army Medical Corps for two years based in Maryland. After retiring, he kept working in the medical field as a registered nurse in 1997. Now he is in his 23rd year of nursing with a Med-Surg specialty, and his third year of travel nursing! Bill's favorite place is Florida, where he is a "snowbird" travel nurse and during the summer/fall seasons he takes assignments in Virginia.
Bill has been nominated by his recruiter, Amy R., as a healthcare hero. Amy says:
"Bill volunteered to work in the COVID units on his last few assignments when the need for nurses was high. He told me stories about how heavy and hot his personal protective equipment was, but knowing that it helped protect him and the patients. He is one of the hardest working and nicest travelers that I have ever worked with."
