American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring couplet care and postpartum hysterectomy patient care experience.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit with 4 labor beds, 4 triage beds, and 13 obstetric beds
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 7p-7a
• Provides couplet care and postpartum care including hysterectomy patients
• Cares for high-risk antepartum, mother/baby, and Level I nursery patients
• Facility performs fewer than 100 births per month
• Float required within the hospital as needed
• Bi-weekly orientation schedule

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN for fetal monitoring
• AWHONN Advanced/Intermediate and STABLE certifications preferred
• Experience in antepartum, L&D, postpartum, and OB required
• Basic med surg skills required for hysterectomy patient care
• Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
• Updated professional references (completed within two years by a supervisor) required for consideration
• Current Nursys license verification (pulled within 7 days) required for consideration
• COVID vaccination documentation required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide labor and delivery care including vaginal delivery, C-section circulation/scrub, and high-risk delivery assistance
• Support antepartum care including NSTs, OCTs, and sterile vaginal exams
• Provide newborn care including APGAR scoring, newborn assessment, and discharge teaching to parents
• Manage fetal monitoring including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and use of external/internal monitoring
• Scrubs are provided
• At least one holiday coverage required
• Flexible RTO policy, though holiday coverage is required
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced pay rate
• Locals residing within 50-mile radius accepted at a lower bill rate
• Previous employees must have been gone for at least one year and in good standing to be considered for return, and local former employees are not eligible to return
