American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Hem/Onc/BMT RN for a night shift position at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of BMT/Cellular Therapy experience.

Details

• Pediatric Oncology unit within a Magnet, Level I Trauma teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekend shifts required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within the hospital, but not to affiliate hospitals
• Provides Intermediate Level of Care to patients ages 0-18, with some followed up to age 25
• Cares for patients with leukemia, brain tumors, bone tumors, sarcoma, lymphomas, blood diseases, immunological diseases, storage diseases, BMT, and Graft vs Host Disease
• Supports Hem/Onc/BMT patients on other units including chemotherapy administration and central line care
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (OR license required for consideration)
• Pending license accepted if application has been submitted to and received by the licensing board
• Current certifications: BLS, PALS, and a chemotherapy/biotherapy provider card from APHON or ONS
• BMTCN and CPHON certifications preferred
• 2+ years of nursing experience required, including BMT/Cellular Therapy experience
• Pediatric and BMT/Cellular Therapy exposure required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in administration and monitoring of chemotherapy, body fluid handling post-chemotherapy, neutropenic precautions, symptom management, port and central line care, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and pediatric dosage calculations
• Experience managing oncologic emergencies
• Conscious sedation experience preferred
• COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions

• First-time travelers accepted with 3+ years of experience
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
• Candidates may float to an affiliate hospital nearby; refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
• RTO limited to a maximum of 1 week
• Former OHSU employees or previous travelers must have been gone at least 6 months to be eligible to return
• Scrubs are provided for OR assignments and no printed scrubs are allowed
• Parking is available at a daily cost
