American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN-Telemetry for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of tele experience, CA RN license, and successful prior travel history.

• MS/Telemetry resource pool position in a teaching hospital setting with residents
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Float required to all areas except L&D/Women's, ED, and Special Procedures
• Patient population includes high Medicare and geriatric patients with multiple comorbidities
• Cares for patients with DM, COPD, cardiovascular disease, hepatic conditions, oncology needs, sepsis, and alcohol withdrawal protocols
• Requires cardiac drip and central line management experience
• Every other weekend coverage required
• May be called off or placed on call once per pay period, with a 60-minute callback requirement if on call
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Navy or white scrubs required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required on hand at time of consideration
• Required certifications: BLS, IV Start, Telemetry
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, NIHSS, OCN, PCCN
• Minimum 2 years of strong telemetry experience required; ICU-only experience not accepted
• Experience with at least 3 of 5 cardiac drips required: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Nitro
• Proficiency in EPIC charting required
• Experience with central line care/management required
• Teaching hospital with residents experience highly preferred
• Vascular and oncology experience preferred
• Strong MS/Tele skills required
• Prior successful travel experience required with 0-1 prior cancellations
• Flu vaccine required, with exemptions considered case-by-case
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry and cardiac monitoring care including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Manage cardiac drips (titration required) and central lines
• Perform respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, and tracheostomy management
• Administer IV therapy, blood products, and manage PICC/peripheral lines
• Implement heparin and IV insulin protocols as needed
• Provide wound care and wound vac management
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position unless candidate has 10+ years of experience in a teaching hospital with residents
• Permanent address must be more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
• RTO should not exceed 7 days and must be submitted with initial profile; no RTO permitted within first two weeks of assignment
• Travelers expected to work every other holiday, with preference for coverage on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve
• Former facility employees must have been separated for 2+ years to be eligible to return as a traveler
• Only one contract extension allowed; time off equal to the combined length of original contract and extension required before returning as a traveler
• Candidates should be flexible with scheduling; block scheduling is rarely granted
