American Traveler is hiring a RN House Supervisor with a NY license and prior House Supervisor or RN Manager experience for a night shift assignment at a small community hospital.

Details

• House Supervisor role overseeing nursing care across all units organizationally
• 25-bed inpatient unit with average daily census of 19, serving swing bed, detox, and medical patients
• Hospital includes day surgery, a 7-bed ER, and the 25-bed inpatient unit
• RN staffing ratio on inpatient unit is 1:6 days and 1:7 nights with LPN support for med pass or swing bed assignments
• Patient population includes CHF, pneumonia, chest pain rule-out, syncope, diverticulitis, cellulitis, COPD, ETOH/opiate withdrawal, and debility cases
• Majority of patients are subacute, requiring rehab, wound care, or long-term IV antibiotics
• Bariatric equipment available on an as-needed rental basis
• Respiratory therapy services available Monday-Friday 7a-3p only
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45-7:15)
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floating required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a House Supervisor or RN Manager required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Scrubs required; no formal dress code otherwise

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include bed management, new admissions, code management, rapid response, crisis intervention, and facility/bed diversion
• Involved in discharge AMA processes, sentinel event monitoring/reporting, and regulatory compliance oversight (DPH, TJC, OSHA)
• Supervises nursing care delivery across all hospital units
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Previous employees may only return after a 6-month system-wide break
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
