American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring Level II Trauma Center experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department, staffing a 46-bed unit with an average daily census of 140
• Cares for all age ranges presenting with chest pain, stroke, sepsis, cardiac arrest, trauma, respiratory illness, and respiratory arrest
• Patient ratio of 1:4, up to 1:5 for lower acuity patient groups
• Utilizes specialized equipment including Belmont rapid infuser in trauma, Giraffe warmer for neonates, rapid infuser, and Lucas device for cardiac arrests
• 3x12-hour night shifts, 19:30-08:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within specialty as needed
• No scheduled on-call required

Requirements

• Active RN license (Maryland or Compact)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI, TNCC (AHA only for BLS/ACLS/PALS)
• Minimum 3 years of ED experience required, 4-5 years preferred
• Level II Trauma Center experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Travel experience required, though first-time travelers with 5+ years of experience will be considered
• Skills in managing pediatric, psychiatric, respiratory, neurological, and shock/trauma cases
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of emergency medications required
• Ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a broad range of medical, surgical, psychiatric, and trauma presentations
• Support includes triage, isolation precautions/PPE compliance, and interdisciplinary trauma response
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Charge nurse experience preferred but not required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Level I Trauma experience are preferred but not required
• Candidates must reside 50+ miles from the facility to be eligible unless otherwise noted
• First-time travelers with 5+ years of experience will be considered
