American Traveler is hiring a Behavioral Health RN with 2 years of inpatient psychiatric experience and an active NJ or Compact RN license for a 13-week hospital assignment.

Details

• Behavioral Health unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Float required among five designated hospitals within skillset (Voorhees, Marlton, Mt. Holly, Willingboro, and OLOL)
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Block scheduling not permitted

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required, verified via Nursys dated within 2 weeks of submission
• Current BLS certification required, not expiring within 30 days of assignment start
• CPI certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of behavioral health inpatient experience required, with recent experience within the last 12 months
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Experience caring for patients with anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depressive disorders, personality disorders, PTSD, psychotic disorders, schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, self-injurious behavior, substance use, suicidal behavior, and trauma-related disorders preferred
• Knowledge of antianxiety, antidepressant, antipsychotic, mood stabilizer, and sedative/analgesic medications preferred
• Skilled in crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and behavior management techniques
• Experience with emergent chemical restraints and physical hold protocols preferred
• Knowledge of seclusion protocols and legal aspects of voluntary/involuntary commitment preferred
• Ability to obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Active licenses and certifications must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required with no exemptions

Additional Information

• Provide direct psychiatric nursing care within an inpatient behavioral health setting
• Administer medications and monitor patients with a range of psychiatric and mood disorders
• Employ crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to manage patient behavior safely
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must be clean shaven to accommodate fit testing prior to working on the unit
• Complete pre-employment labs within 48 hours of signing
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; requests after submission will not be accepted
• No RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to the local pay rate
• First-time travelers accepted, though experienced travelers are preferred
