American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg - Cardiology RN for a night shift position requiring at least three years of applicable nursing experience and Epic charting experience.

Details

• Cardiac Med-Surg unit setting
• Night shift, 7pm-7:30am, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• Weekend and holiday shifts on a rotating basis
• May float to other Carle Health facilities including Methodist Hospital, Young Minds, Pekin Hospital, and Proctor Hospital
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Minimum of three years of applicable nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to exercise independent judgment
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browsers
• Multicultural sensitivity required

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to cardiac med-surg patients using the nursing process from assessment through evaluation
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and modify individualized patient care plans
• Perform bedside lab testing and associated quality control per hospital procedures
• Utilize lift equipment and safe patient handling techniques as needed
• Advocate for patients and provide patient/family education tailored to individual needs
• Demonstrate technical knowledge of equipment and troubleshoot issues as they arise
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not remain on assignment at Carle Health for more than one year without a 6-month break in service before returning
