American Traveler is hiring a Mother-Baby/Postpartum RN with at least 2 years of experience and prior travel experience, requiring a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum unit
• Patient population includes postpartum vaginal and cesarean delivery, tubal ligation, circumcision, GYN surgeries, couplet care, low-risk antepartum, and transition nursery care
• Day shift schedule (4x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
• Weekend shifts required to meet staffing needs
• Floating may be required to NICU, L&D, or a sister campus
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required, in hand at submission
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Mother-Baby/Postpartum required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience with blood/blood product administration, drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, syringe pumps, and wound vac required
• Experience administering heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate required
• Experience with OB-GYN and post-op care following vaginal delivery required
• Experience with postpartum readmissions required
• Experience with normal newborn care, including thermoregulation and glucose management required
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive postpartum and newborn care including discharge teaching, infant identification, newborn assessment, phototherapy, and thermoregulation
• Manage pain including post-epidural and opioid management, and use of IV PCA
• Perform postpartum care and procedures including bladder assessment, Foley catheter insertion, breastfeeding instruction, episiotomy/incision care, and fundus/lochia/perineum care
• Provide care for patients with postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not live within 50 miles of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for the travel rate
