American Traveler is hiring an experienced Ambulatory OR RN with 3+ years of surgical services and pediatric experience for a day shift assignment requiring float coverage across five hospitals.

Details

• Ambulatory Care unit within a hospital surgical services setting
• Provides preop and Phase II recovery care for ambulatory surgery patients
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Required to float within 5 hospitals based on staffing needs
• Block scheduling is not permitted

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required, verified via Nursys within 2 weeks of submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• BLS certification must not expire within 30 days of assignment start date
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required, with recent experience within the last 12 months
• Pediatric experience required
• Specialized experience in surgical services with ability to perform Phase II preop assessments in an ambulatory setting
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Experience with pre/post-operative care, medication reconciliation, and obtaining operative consent
• Skilled in straight urinary catheterization, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and pain assessment/management

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include pre-op assessments, discharge instructions, follow-up calls, and 12-lead EKG/ECG monitoring
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; requests after submission will not be accepted
• No RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
• Candidates must complete pre-employment labs within 48 hours of signing
• Must be clean shaven for respirator fit testing prior to starting on the unit
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required with no exemptions
• First-time travelers accepted but not preferred
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are subject to the local pay rate
