American Traveler is hiring an LPN with oncology clinic experience for an outpatient Medical Oncology practice, requiring EPIC Ambulatory proficiency and license if applicable.

Details

• Outpatient oncology clinic setting within a Medical Oncology department
• Patient population includes adult (18+) medical oncology/chemotherapy infusion, hematology, and BMT (pre- and post-transplant) patients
• Sees approximately 15-25 patients per day with CA support
• 10-hour day shifts from 7:00am-5:30pm, with day off based on weekly clinic needs
• No weekend shifts and no on-call requirements
• Minor holiday coverage required when clinic is open; no major holidays
• Will routinely rotate among different physicians within Medical Oncology and may occasionally float to other clinics outside the department
• Uses EPIC Ambulatory charting system

Requirements

• LPN license required if applicable
• BLS certification required
• Completion of an accredited nursing education program approved by a board of nursing
• Minimum 1.5 years of nursing experience, including 1 year of current oncology experience
• Outpatient clinic experience required
• EPIC Ambulatory experience required
• Experience serving as first assist and chaperone for provider exams and procedures

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, review of systems, medication reconciliation, and weight checks
• Processes patients for infusions and communicates clearance status, obtains orders, performs chart checks, sets up for procedures, and reviews referrals
• Works alongside department leadership, CAs, charge nurse, and a team lead resource, with on-site lab support
• Chemo nurses handle port access and blood draws
• Physician team includes 7 medical oncologists, each typically supported by an ARNP
• Facility orientation typically lasts 5 days, subject to change based on skillset and comfort level
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Free parking provided
• Facility is known to be traveler-friendly and welcomes contract renewals
• Time off requests of up to 7 days (excluding holidays) may be approved if the traveler is willing to extend the contract accordingly
• First-time travelers not accepted; must have completed at least one 13-week travel assignment
• Candidates must live more than 100 miles from the facility
• Former permanent staff must wait a full year before returning as a traveler
