American Traveler is hiring an experienced Pediatrics RN for a chronic complex care unit requiring a CT or compact RN license and prior respiratory/vented patient experience.

Details

• Pediatrics unit specializing in chronic complex care with a rehab component for short stays
• 28-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:5-7
• Patient population includes premature infants, and children with congenital/genetic conditions, ages 2 months to 18 years
• Not an ICU setting; more of a step-down unit for trachs, vents, and G-tubes
• Nurses assist with suctioning but do not manage ventilator settings or weaning, as respiratory therapists handle vent care
• Unit procedures include IVs, GT/JT/NGT tube care, trach/vent care, and infusions
• Evening shift, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, 40 hours per week
• Alternative 12-hour shift option available, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No floating or charge responsibilities required

Requirements

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience with respiratory/vented pediatric patients strongly preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients with chronic and complex medical needs
• Care for children who may be on trachs, vents, or G-tubes, with respiratory therapists managing ventilator settings
• Local candidates accepted
