American Traveler is seeking a Hospice RN with outpatient hospice experience and a TX or compact RN license for a night shift position.

Details

• Hospice unit within a hospital setting
• Home Health/Hospice work setting
• Night shift schedule, Monday through Thursday, 4x10-hour shifts (5:00 PM - 3:00 AM) with a 1-hour lunch
• On-call responsibilities from 3:00 AM - 8:00 AM Monday through Thursday nights, shared between two RNs
• On-call duties may include triage calls or patient visits
• Altera charting system experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• Valid driver's license required
• Minimum 2 years of outpatient hospice experience required
• Proficient in medication administration and pain management, including the WHO Analgesic Ladder, adjuvant therapy, and pain assessment
• Skilled in symptom assessment and management, including altered mental status, anorexia/cachexia, ascites, and pressure ulcer staging
• Experienced in end-of-life care, including death pronouncement, perideath family care, and postmortem care
• Knowledgeable in ethical and legal issues including advanced directives
• Clinical documentation of hospice eligibility experience required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive hospice care including pain management, symptom management, and end-of-life care
• Support patient and family education, goal setting, and intake assessments
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with mandatory clearance required
• Candidates should avoid substances that could result in a positive drug screen, including CBD products, prior to arrival
• Must live within 150 miles of the facility for RN/LVN eligibility
• Local candidates are not accepted
• Previous permanent staff must have separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a travel employee
• Travel experience preferred but not required
