American Traveler is hiring a MedSurg/Tele Observation RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of acute MedSurg experience and an AZ or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 10-bed MedSurg unit with telemetry capability on all beds within an acute care, Level III trauma hospital
• 12-hour night shift schedule
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5 days, 1:6 nights, and 1:4 for pediatric patients, adjusted based on acuity
• Support staff includes tele techs, charge nurse, HUCs, and PCTs
• Float to all MedSurg units and ICU to cover overflow patients
• Uses Allscripts EMR

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA); PALS preferred
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an acute MedSurg care setting required
• BSN not required

Additional Information

• Deliver direct patient care on a MedSurg unit with telemetry monitoring capabilities
• Nurse managers conduct rounds but do not provide direct patient care
• Any color scrub permitted; scrubs not provided
• Limited to 3 cancellations per 13-week assignment
