American Traveler is hiring an ICU Float RN with a WA or compact license, EPIC experience, and prior floating experience for a high acuity float pool assignment.

Details

• Float pool position covering Critical Care, Observation, Med Surg, General Surgery, Ortho Surgery, Short Stay Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Telemetry, and Progressive Care units
• Patient population includes medical, surgical, neuro, and cardiac diagnoses
• Standard AACN CCU staffing ratios of 1-2 patients, up to 1-3 depending on acuity
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Self-scheduling available with 3 weekend shifts required per schedule
• Holiday coverage required
• No call or standby requirement
• Charge nurses create assignments and RNs select from available options
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• Vent, high flow, BiPAP, and CPAP equipment used on unit
• Telemetry monitoring with Phillips monitors and on-unit monitor techs; RNs read strips
• Nurse aides available at 1-2 ratio depending on daily census

Requirements

• Active WA or Compact RN license required, pending licenses not accepted
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (active, not pending)
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience required, high acuity experience preferred
• Prior floating experience required (float pool, other facilities, or floating between units)
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience titrating drips including Epi, Norepinephrine, Dobutamine, Propofol, Esmolol, Hydromorphone, Midazolam, and CIS required
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across multiple high acuity units within the float pool
• Titrate medication drips as part of standard patient care duties
• Orientation includes General Hospital Orientation (held weekly on Mondays), Myles Modules, Cerner Validation class, and two shifts of on-unit orientation in the ICU
• Device-trained nurses may be checked off to use specialty devices if recently practiced and comfortable
• Royal Blue scrub color required
• First-time travelers may be considered if they meet the floating and EPIC experience requirements
