American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring ICU care skills and moderate sedation experience at a Level II Trauma Center.

Details

• Work in the Interventional Radiology unit with 7 pre/post bays and 2 procedural suites
• Outpatient and inpatient procedures including biopsies, UFEs, kyphoplasties, port placements, diagnostic angiograms, arterial and venous interventional procedures, IVC placement, venous and neurological thrombectomies, coilings, aneurysm rupture repair, paracentesis, and thoracentesis
• Patient ratios of 1:1 in procedure rooms and up to 1:3 in pre/post areas
• Uses Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors
• Unit open for routine procedures Monday-Friday 6:30A-4:30P with 24/7 availability for emergencies
• On-call typically required every 4th weekend and 1 night during the week, staffing dependent
• Shift options include 4x10-hour shifts with a rotating day off or 3x12-hour shifts with rotating days off
• Floating limited to other procedural areas such as cath lab pre/post if skillset applies

Requirements

• Active RN license (AL or compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience accepted; first-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of experience
• Skills required in ICU care, moderate sedation, arterial line management, medication titration, and chest tube care

Additional Information

• Support provided by a charge nurse on the unit
• Orientation includes 2 shifts in the unit and 1-2 shifts in education/onboarding
• Holiday coverage required equally between core and travel staff, including 1 Winter holiday (Christmas Day, Thanksgiving, or New Year's) and 1 Summer holiday (July 4th, Memorial Day, or Labor Day)
• Time off requests approved by the unit manager
• Scrubs may be any color, with green scrubs provided for procedural work
• Parking available in assigned hospital areas or parking deck
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Former permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler
