American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Orthopedic/Med-Surg Inpatient position requiring an Illinois RN license, Epic charting experience, and Level 1 Trauma exposure.

Details

• Orthopedic and Medical/Surgical inpatient unit within a hospital setting
• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 3 days per week
• 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week period
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Float to similar units as needed
• Utilizes Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Experience with ortho traction and surgical traction devices
• Experience managing wound vacs, drains, pouches, and urological devices

Additional Information

• Assess ortho and medical/surgical patients each shift and develop individualized plans of care
• Educate patients on wound care, mobility, self-care, medication management, and care transition needs
• Coordinate care with physicians and surgeons and delegate tasks to HCT staff
• Set up and manage ortho traction and surgical traction devices for mobility and wound care
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation to support the healthcare team
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
• RTO limited to 7 total days within a 13-week contract
• Candidates with continuous prior assignments exceeding 1 year at this health system must complete a 6-month break before returning
