American Traveler is hiring an LPN for an inpatient rehab hospital unit, requiring 2 years of inpatient rehab or med-surg experience and active GA license (if applicable).

Details

• Inpatient rehabilitation hospital unit with 33 beds and a census of 25-33 patients
• Patient population includes med-surg, ortho, and trauma cases referred from acute hospitals, LTAC, LTC, and home settings
• Common diagnoses include post-op ortho (amputations, external fixators, joint replacements), post-CABG, traumas (MVAs, multiple traumas, GSW, falls), general debilitation, and wounds requiring wound vac therapy
• RN/LPN patient ratio of 1:5-7 with 1-3 CNAs per shift
• Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors
• Unit-specific equipment includes VS3 vital sign monitors, Nova Glucose Stat Strips, portable vital sign monitors, bladder scanners, portable oxygen systems, and suction machines
• 12-hour day shift schedule (0700-1900) on a 6-week rotation, 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation of 5-6 shifts out of 12 on a 6-week schedule
• May float between Unit 1 and Unit 2
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN or LPN license (GA) required if applicable
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient rehab or med-surg experience required
• Experience with wound care, dressing changes, wound vacs, drains, peripheral IV starts/maintenance, ostomy care, and IV antibiotics required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

• Support available includes CNAs, unit secretary, Charge RN, phlebotomy/nurse draw team, 24/7 respiratory therapy, and daytime hospitalist coverage with on-call coverage at night
• Orientation includes 1 day of facility orientation with educational modules followed by 2 days of departmental orientation
• Holiday coverage required for one shift each of Thanksgiving (or day after), Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve or New Year's Day
• RTO requests require manager approval
• Scrub color requirement is Ceil Blue for LPNs and Navy for RNs
• Free parking available on-site
• Unit culture described as busy with a strong team-based approach
• First-time travelers will be considered
• No radius rule applies for local candidates in GA facilities, with the same rate offered to local travelers
• Candidates must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year if previously in a permanent position
