Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a Level 1 trauma acute care unit requiring ND or compact RN licensure and prior travel or large hospital experience.

Details

• Acute care Med/Surg unit (5SE) within a Level 1 trauma center
• 47-bed department caring for Med/Surg and surgical oncology patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1 on day shift and 6:1 on night shift
• EPIC EMR used for charting
• Equipment used includes AccuDose, bladder scanner, Phillips monitors, and telemetry
• 12-hour shifts on a day/night rotation
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Floating required to any Med/Surg unit on any campus

Requirements

• Active ND or compact state RN license required
• Current BLS certification through AHA required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience in a hospital with at least 200 beds and Level 2 or higher trauma designation required
• Prior travel nursing experience required unless candidate has multiple years of experience in a Level 1 trauma setting
• Surgical oncology experience preferred but not required
• EPIC EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Collaborate with interprofessional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Practice within full scope of nursing expertise using age and population-specific standards
• Unit orientation includes 1 day of lead center training followed by two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor
• Navy blue scrubs required
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
• Candidates living between 60 and 80 miles from the facility may be considered at a reduced local rate
• Candidates with prior employment at this health system must have an end date at least 6 months before their submission date
