American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN with NICU II and III experience for a night shift assignment requiring EPIC EMR proficiency and SC/compact licensure.

Details

• Work in the NICU treating neonates from 22 weeks gestation and greater
• Care for patients with conditions such as HIE, RDS, sepsis, diaphragmatic hernia, myelomeningocele, and ROP
• Perform special procedures including full body cooling, chest tube management, tracheostomy management, and laser eye surgery with Avastin administration
• Use specialized equipment such as Artic Sun, Jet Ventilator, HFOV, Draeger Ventilator, HFNC, Bubble CPAP, Atom and GE Dual Incubators, and radiant warmers
• Night shift options of 4x12 (1900-0730) with no call, or 3x12 with call requiring at least one 12-hour call shift bi-weekly
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend unless needs change
• Float to other NICU units or facilities as needed
• EPIC EMR used for documentation, along with Pyxis/Omnicell for medication management

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required, with NICU II and III experience specifically required
• At least 1 year of recent experience in a NICU unit
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in UAC/UVC management, arterial line management, central line care, and IV therapy
• Experience with neonatal dosage calculations, surfactant administration, and anti-seizure medications
• Competency in ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), oscillators, and nitric oxide therapy
• Experience with therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket) and VP shunt care preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive neonatal intensive care for a wide range of complex diagnoses and post-surgical needs
• Support developmental care, breastfeeding assistance, and patient/family teaching
• Participate in mandatory Monday orientation and annual compliance training
• Complete pre-assignment testing and modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Floating to other qualified units or campuses may be required based on census needs
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Radius rules apply: travelers must reside more than 100 miles from any facility within the health system to be eligible for the full travel rate, with reduced rates for those between 90-99.9 miles away
