American Traveler is hiring a Step Down RN with at least 2 years of telemetry experience and stepdown ICU/TCU/PCU background for a teaching hospital in California.

• Work in the Step Down unit of a teaching hospital medical center
• Day (3x12, 7:00-19:30) and Night (3x12, 19:00-7:30) variable shift options available
• Requires ability to float to other facilities within the health system and units within a 75+ mile radius
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
• BSN required
• AHA BLS required; ACLS and PCCN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required, with stepdown ICU/TCU/PCU experience preferred over med/surg telemetry experience
• CIWA and EKG/Cardiac Rhythm Recognition course experience required
• Tracheostomy care expertise required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for stepdown/PCU/DOU/IMC patients requiring telemetry and cardiac monitoring
• Skills include arterial line management, central and peripheral line care, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP management, IV insulin protocols, and wound care
• Responsible for interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and use of rapid response/code teams
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with full employment history for rehire eligibility review
• All requested time off must be submitted and approved at time of offer; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract, and RTO cannot fall within the first two weeks of the assignment
