American Traveler is hiring a Surgical RN for a post-operative unit requiring Epic charting and Level 1 Trauma experience with a 13-week day shift assignment.

Details

• Surgical unit providing post-operative care to complex surgical patients
• Cares for patients with new tracheostomies, complex wounds requiring wound vac management, and new ostomies
• Works collaboratively with general surgical residency and OMFS residency services
• Day shift schedule, 7:00a-7:30p, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Requires 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
• Holiday coverage on a rotating basis
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma center experience required
• Skilled in patient education and nursing documentation

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care including initial assessments, care planning, and ongoing evaluation of post-operative surgical patients
• Responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation
• Collaborates with surgical residency teams and other healthcare team members
• Identifies and reports safety hazards to ensure patient and employee safety
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not remain on assignment at this health system for more than 1 year without a 6-month break in service before returning
