American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) role requiring at least 2 years of recent pediatric cardiac ICU experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) of a children's hospital
• Variable Day/Night shifts (3x12 Hours), Day 7:00-19:00 and Night 19:00-7:00
• Weekend requirement of 6 shifts per 4-week schedule (Fri/Sat nights or Sat/Sun days)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope of practice to meet facility needs
• Epic EMR used
• Level 1 trauma, Magnet-recognized, teaching facility with 30 staffed beds

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (in hand or with confirmed ETA from licensing board)
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric CVICU experience required
• Must be cardiac trained with strong cardiac skills
• Heart transplant experience required
• Experience with ventilators, multiple monitors, and EKG interpretation required
• Prior travel experience required
• First-time travelers considered only with strong relevant experience

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric cardiac patients including those with congenital heart disease, post cardiac surgery, and post cardiac catheterization needs
• Skills include hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia management, CVP monitoring, and ventricular assist device care (LVAD/RVAD)
• Maximum of 6 days RTO permitted; traveler must work at least 3 shifts per week
• Required to work 1 of 2 major holidays (including Eve): Christmas and New Year's; no RTO accommodated for Christmas Day or Eve
• Scrubs of any color permitted
• Free traveler parking available
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers who reach their 1-year mark at this facility or its affiliated hospital must wait 90 days before returning as a traveler
