American Traveler is hiring a Radiology RN with strong IV/PICC/central line/port access skills and at least 2 years of experience for a fast-paced outpatient and inpatient radiology environment.

Details

• Work in the Radiology department, primarily at an outpatient pavilion
• Variable day shift schedule (5x8 hours), including 6:30am-3:00pm, 7:00am-3:30pm, and 7:30am-4:00pm start times
• Scheduling includes Monday through Sunday coverage
• Required to float to any radiology unit within the health system, including MRI, and both outpatient and inpatient locations
• Floating may extend to affiliate hospitals based on census and unit needs
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute care setting required
• For specialty placement, at least 1 year of full-time equivalent experience in radiology within the past 2 years required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Required skills: IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, accessing and managing ports, central line care and management, and PICC line care and management
• Strong skills in conscious sedation monitoring, radiation safety, sterile procedures, and pre/post procedure care required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Two professional references required, including at least one supervisory/manager reference from the specialty unit within the past year

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across a range of radiology procedures, including pre/post procedure monitoring and conscious sedation
• Responsible for infection prevention practices, isolation precautions, and proper PPE use
• Perform Universal Protocol (time-out) procedures and manage informed consent processes
• Candidates previously employed by the facility must disclose this at the time of consideration and be approved prior to assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Must not have worked for the facility as a staff employee within the past year to be eligible as a traveler
• Requires 7 days of RTO with no time off permitted during the first two weeks of assignment
• RTO must be finalized prior to consideration and cannot be changed afterward
