American Traveler is hiring an experienced Behavioral Health RN for a day-shift assignment requiring an active NJ or Compact RN license and at least 1 year of inpatient behavioral health experience.

Details

• Behavioral Health unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required among five designated hospitals (Voorhees, Marlton, Mt. Holly, Willingboro, and OLOL) based on staffing needs
• Epic charting experience is a plus

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required, verified via Nursys within 2 weeks of submission
• BLS certification required, not expiring within 30 days of assignment start
• CPI certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of specialty experience required, with recent experience within the last 12 months
• At least 1 year of inpatient behavioral health experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with medication administration including antianxiety, antidepressant, antipsychotic, mood stabilizer, and sedative/analgesic medications preferred
• Experience caring for patients with anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depressive disorders, personality disorders, PTSD, psychotic disorders, schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, self-injurious behavior, substance use, suicidal behavior, and trauma-related disorders preferred
• Skills in crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, psychoeducation, and behavior management techniques required
• Skills in blood glucose monitoring, lab value interpretation, EKG/ECG acquisition, and seclusion protocols preferred
• Knowledge of physical hold protocols and emergent chemical restraint administration preferred
• Familiarity with legal aspects of seclusion use and voluntary/involuntary commitment preferred
• Must be clean shaven for fit testing prior to working on the unit
• Must complete pre-employment labs within 48 hours of signing

Additional Information

• Provide direct care to patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting, including medication administration and crisis intervention
• Navy blue scrubs required
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; no requests accepted afterward, and no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
• Block scheduling not permitted
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required with no exemptions
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are subject to the local pay rate
• First-time travelers accepted, though experienced travelers are preferred
