Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Surgical ICU position requiring direct post-op cardiac surgery recovery experience and an MD or compact RN license.

Details

• 18-bed Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSICU) receiving patients directly from the OR
• Cares for patients recovering from cardiac surgery, cardiac transplantation, lung transplantation, and ventricular assist device placement
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2
• Night shift 12-hour schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with A/P rotation or straight PM options available
• Uses Epicardial wires/pacemakers, vasoactive gtts titration, Level 1 IABP, ECMO, Vent, CRRT, and Swan

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD or Compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• Current experience recovering post-op cardiac surgery patients in an ICU setting required
• Hands-on experience with Vent, CRRT, Swan, Epicardial wires/pacemakers, vasoactive gtts titration, Level 1 IABP, and ECMO required
• Experience in a dedicated Open-Heart Unit required
• ACLS and Critical Care Certification preferred
• Trauma course completion preferred
• EPIC experience preferred
• Experience in a facility with 500+ beds required

Additional Information

• Provide direct post-surgical recovery care for complex cardiac and lung transplant patients
• Orientation held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
