Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Surgical ICU RN requiring 2+ years of SICU experience and Epic proficiency, working 3x12 day shifts on a 13-week assignment.

Details

• Surgical ICU (SICU) unit within a hospital setting
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• Potential floating to other ICUs and step-down units (SDUs)
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (LA state or compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA-issued)
• Minimum 2 years of Surgical ICU experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and Central Venous Pressure (CVP) monitoring required
• Post cardiac surgery and pre/post cardiac catheterization intervention experience required
• Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) experience required
• IV therapy experience required, including blood product administration, central line management, and PICC line management
• Drip titration experience required
• Chest tube insertion, removal, and ventilated patient care experience required
• Preferred experience includes liver, kidney, pancreas, heart, or lung transplant recovery, LVAD/RVAD, and high acuity ICU
• First-time travelers will not be considered

Additional Information

• Care for high acuity surgical ICU patients including post-cardiac surgery and transplant recovery cases
• May be assigned to an Emergency Team during declared emergency events, requiring on-site presence until relief arrives
• Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• Must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be considered
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted and discussed prior to offer to avoid rescission
