American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN for a Magnet-recognized children's hospital, requiring 2+ years critical care experience and floating to PICU and NICU.

Details

• Float pool position covering pediatric acute, intermediate, oncology, neonatal, and critical care units
• Primary floating required to PICU and NICU
• May also float to Pediatric Acute Care Surgical (PACS), Pediatric Acute Care Medical (PACM), Pediatric Intermediate Care (PIMC), and Pediatric Oncology (Hem/Onc) units
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Must work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day)
• Floating to affiliate hospitals nearby may be required based on unit needs

Requirements

• Active RN license required, OR license needed at time of consideration
• BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, ventilator management, tracheostomy care, hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, ICP monitoring, insulin administration, isolation precautions/PPE, pediatric dosage calculations, and urinary catheter insertion/management
• Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required, charge RN references not accepted
• Comprehensive work history covering the last seven years, including city, state, dates of employment, and PTO details

• Provide critical care nursing across a wide range of pediatric units including PICU, NICU, oncology, and acute/intermediate care
• Work within a Magnet-recognized children's hospital environment
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no mile radius requirement
• Returning staff or previous travelers must have a 6+ month gap before returning to assignment
• Former OHSU employees or previous travelers require a reference from their previous OHSU supervisor
• RTO must be submitted upfront and cannot exceed 2 weeks
• COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted
• Refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
