American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with cardiovascular experience for a 13-week assignment requiring at least three years of relevant nursing experience and an Illinois RN license.

Details

• Cardiovascular Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Direct care of CVMS patients, including post-op day one CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• 36 hours per week, 3 shifts per week
• 5-6 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule
• Holiday coverage on a department rotation basis
• May float to like units
• Epic EMR charting used

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing
• BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic charting experience required

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care utilizing the nursing process from initial assessment through plan of care implementation and evaluation
• Perform hourly rounding on patients
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Report and correct safety hazards and incidents
• Offer constructive feedback to peers and collaborate with colleagues to expand knowledge
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and departmental competencies
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Workers who complete 1 year of continuous assignment must convert or take a 6-month break before returning to this health system
