American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit / Cardiac Telemetry position requiring NC or compact RN licensure and at least 1 year of cardiac tele or PCU experience.

Details

• Community-based teaching hospital in High Point, NC with 351 licensed beds
• Cardiac Telemetry unit with 18 beds and an average daily census of 18
• 12-hour night shift schedule (1900-0700), 36 hours per week
• Every-other-weekend rotation required
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• RN to patient ratio of 1:3 or 1:4 depending on interventions
• CNA support available; Charge Nurse serves as Resource Nurse
• Rapid Response Team and Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
• Hospitalist coverage available 24/7
• Floating required within IMC and med-surg units, max of 4 patients
• EMR: EPIC
• IV pump: Baxter; medication dispensing via Omnicell
• Cardiac monitors: Philips Intellivue in all patient rooms
• Continuous cardiac, respiratory, hemodynamic, and neurologic monitoring for patients with NSTEMI, STEMI, heart failure, post-stroke, or post-cardiac/thoracic surgery conditions

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of cardiac telemetry or PCU experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• Skills in cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring, rhythm interpretation, arterial line management, drip titration, non-invasive ventilation, vascular line care, chest tube management, and post-procedural site care required
• Experience with EPIC EMR required
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required

• Provide continuous cardiac, respiratory, and hemodynamic monitoring and titrate cardiac medications for a variety of post-surgical and cardiac patients

• Orientation includes a 36-hour first week with NTO and online CBL modules, plus a 12-hour unit-specific orientation shift with an RN preceptor

• Previous employees must have been separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year if they held a permanent position there
