American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 34-bed unit specializing in joint replacement and general surgery patients, requiring an active NY RN license and 2 years of experience.

Details

• Work on a 34-bed Med/Surg Tele unit featuring a joint center of excellence for hip, knee, and shoulder replacements
• Care for general surgery patients including appendectomies, exploratory laparotomies, and hernia repairs
• Treat medical patients requiring telemetry monitoring across all age groups from adolescents to elderly
• Unit is the only M/S unit with wall suction, accepting all SBO cases requiring suction
• Staffing ratio of 1:9 all shifts using a care delivery model of 1 RN, 1 LPN, 1 PCT per 9 patients
• Modified teams used when full staffing teams are unavailable
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend coverage required, or 4 weekend shifts per month
• Floating required to other Med/Surg units

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to a mix of surgical and medical telemetry patients across a wide age range
• Scrubs must be navy blue and/or white in any combination

• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
