American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department position requiring WV or compact RN licensure and prior ED experience.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patient populations
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Uses Meditech charting system

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of ED experience required, 2 years preferred
• Meditech charting experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Strong ED nursing experience required for candidates without prior travel experience
• Proficient in blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV starts and maintenance
• Skilled in trauma and med-surg care including pediatric trauma

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care for a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, psychiatric, and orthopedic cases
• Manage shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Administer emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
• Apply splints and manage orthopedic trauma
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Perform triage duties as needed
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Candidates must complete lab work within 72 hours of signing contract
