American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a Level I/II Trauma Center supporting a combined adult and pediatric ED, requiring NY RN licensure and trauma center experience.

• Combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department in a Level I/Level II Trauma Center
• Department sees approximately 265 patients daily across 53 rooms
• Patient population includes neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults
• 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required based on departmental needs
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• 24/7 provider coverage from NPs, hospitalists, and anesthesiologists
• Support services available including IV Team, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Rapid Response, Respiratory, Social Services, and Transportation

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience required
• Level I and/or Level II Trauma Center experience required
• General Emergency Department experience with both adult and pediatric patients required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation, 12-lead EKG/ECG, and blood product administration
• Skilled in central line care, phlebotomy, IV starts, and continuous IV paralytics/sedation
• Experience managing CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury, and hypothermia protocols
• Experience with pediatric abdominal pain, infection, respiratory infection, and seizures
• Experience with acute psychosis, overdose, psychiatric holds, and violent behavior management
• Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, chest tube care, ABG interpretation, and intubation
• Experience with trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, LTAC, and community hospital experience preferred

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to a wide range of patients from neonates to adults
• Utilize EPIC for documentation and Omnicell for medication administration
• Hunter Green scrubs required
• COVID vaccination required with no exceptions
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• RTO limited to 5 days or less, with no time off permitted within the first 2 weeks of assignment
• Previous staff must have a 1-year gap before returning as a traveler
