American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Acute Inpatient Rehab position requiring a CA RN license and prior rehab or acute rehab hospital experience.

Details

• Acute inpatient and acute hospital rehab unit
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 0700-1530
• Float to Med-Surg as needed
• Weekend requirements depending on unit needs
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Experience with acute inpatient rehab and acute rehab hospital settings
• Skilled in IV therapy, central line and PICC line care, and administration of blood products
• Experience with orthopedic care including total joint replacement and assistive devices
• Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, stroke, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Experience with respiratory care including tracheostomy management and ventilated patients preferred
• Experience with wound care, pressure ulcer prevention, and fall risk assessment
• Experience with feeding tube management, PEG tubes, and swallowing precautions
• Experience with cardiac care including post-MI and hypertension management
• LVAD experience preferred
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care to acute rehab patients including medication management, mobility assistance, and patient education
• Perform suture/staple removal, pulse and CMS checks, and prosthesis application as needed
• Manage patients with endocrine and metabolic conditions including blood glucose monitoring and insulin protocols
• Support patients with genitourinary and renal conditions including chronic renal failure and dialysis care
• Apply infection prevention practices and appropriate PPE use
• Utilize lift and transfer devices and specialty beds as needed
• Local candidates accepted at local rate
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius for travel rate eligibility
• Returning employees must have a separation period of at least 1 year to be eligible as a traveler
• Only 1 holiday may be requested off per contract, with recognized holidays including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience for consideration
