American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a TX or compact RN license and prior high-acuity cardiac care experience.

Details

• Work in a 28-bed Cardiovascular ICU
• Patient population is 80% cardiac surgery and 20% advanced heart failure, including open heart recovery, heart transplants, LVAD implants, ECMO, Impella, IABP, and CRRT patients
• Utilizes Swan-Ganz catheters and CCO monitoring
• EMR system is Cerner/COMPASS
• Floating required to MICU, SICU, or Medical/Cardiac Stepdown units as needed
• Day shift schedule from 06:45 to 19:15
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience required
• Preferred experience managing cardiac advanced device therapy, including IABP, Impella, and Swan-Ganz
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Deliver direct patient care as an RN, implementing evidence-based interventions aligned with organizational standards
• Develop and monitor individualized care plans, adjusting treatment to optimize patient outcomes
• Administer physician and nursing orders in compliance with regulatory standards
• Lead discharge planning efforts, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team for safe patient transitions
• Navy scrub color required
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced pay rate depending on facility location
• First-time travelers may be considered
