American Traveler is hiring an RN for a CV Neuro ICU position requiring a VA or compact license, BLS/ACLS certification, and 2 years of critical care experience.

Details

• 13-week assignment on a 16-bed CV Neuro ICU
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• 1:2 patient-to-nurse ratio
• Two clinical techs support the unit's 16 patients
• No dedicated tele/monitor techs; RNs are required to read their own telemetry strips
• Philips brand telemetry monitors used on the unit
• RT equipment includes mechanical ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and noninvasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP)
• Manages titratable and set-rate drips including Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Vasopressin, Phenylephrine, and Dopamine

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or Compact) required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
• Must pass an ECG exam (pass/fail) on day two of assignment

Additional Information

• Cares for a complex critical care patient population including stroke, ICH, SAH, SDH, brain tumors, increased ICP, respiratory failure, sepsis, ARDS, COPD/asthma exacerbation, acute heart failure, AKI, DKA/HHS, GI bleeding, acute liver failure, and severe electrolyte abnormalities
• Holiday coverage required for 1 major holiday (Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day, or Thanksgiving/day after) and 1 minor holiday (Labor Day, 4th of July, or Memorial Day)
• Navy blue scrubs required
