American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg unit position requiring active MI licensure and straight med surg experience.

Details

• Level 2 South/Central is a 60-bed Medical Surgical Unit with mixed acuity, including post-surgical cases, diverse medical conditions, trauma, stroke, and inpatient hospice patients
• Fast-paced unit offering broad exposure to a diverse patient population
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required at time of submission
• Compact license not accepted
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of straight Med/Surg experience required (float or SDU/TELE experience not accepted)
• Level I or II Trauma center experience required
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application required
• Travel nursing experience preferred

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Utilize the Clinical Practice Model and Caring-Quality Model to guide patient-centered, evidence-based care
• Participate in an active Unit Based Council promoting shared governance and teamwork
• New team members receive orientation support as they grow in their professional nursing practice
• Strict attendance policy in place: three absences or late arrivals (20+ minutes) may result in immediate termination, with exceptions reviewed for documented communicable illness or hospitalization
• No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) permitted during the assignment
• Local candidates within a 35-mile radius are considered local travelers with adjusted pay rates
• Former full-time McLaren employees are not eligible for contract hire within six months of their employment end date
