American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Behavioral Health position requiring 24 months of Psych/BH experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Behavioral Health/Geropsychiatric unit within a regional hospital setting
• 9-bed unit with patient ratios up to 1:9
• Patient population includes geriatric psychiatric patients
• Days shift, 3x12-hour shifts starting at 0630, 36 hrs/week with no 48-hour weeks
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Possible on-call, up to once per pay period as needed for low census
• Possible floating to Med Surg/Rehab units when BHU census is low
• Charge nurse experience required
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• 24 months of current Psych/Behavioral Health experience required
• Experience with geriatric psychiatric patients required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Charge nurse experience required
• De-escalation certification (MOAB, MAB, CPI, or SAMA) preferred, can be obtained during onboarding
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• Skills checklist specific to Psych/Behavioral Health required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care within a behavioral health setting for geriatric psychiatric patients
• Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage patient behavior
• Grey scrub color required
• Unless the unit is closed, coverage of 1-2 of 3 upcoming holidays is required
• Limited time-off requests around major holiday periods
• First-time travelers accepted with 24 months of Psych/BH experience
• Local candidates within 90 miles of the facility are not accepted for this position
• Past employees of the health system, whether FTE or PRN float pool, are restricted from working travel assignments at other facilities within the same market
