American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring an active MI license and 2+ years of straight med surg experience at a Level I or II trauma facility.

Details

• Work on a Medical Surgical unit with mixed acuity patient populations including post-surgical, general and vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, stroke, and inpatient hospice cases
• Fast-paced unit offering exposure to a diverse patient population
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required at time of submission, compact license not accepted
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of straight Med/Surg experience required (float or SDU/Tele experience does not qualify)
• Level I or II trauma experience required
• Skills checklist completed within the past year required for consideration
• Michigan license verification (LARA and Nursys) required

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Utilize the Clinical Practice Model (CPM) and Caring-Quality Model for patient-centered care
• Participate in an active Unit Based Council promoting shared governance and teamwork
• New team members receive orientation support as they grow in professional nursing practice
• Strong emphasis on evidence-based, holistic care and effective interdisciplinary communication (including SBAR)
• Facility enforces a strict attendance policy allowing no more than 3 absences or late arrivals (20+ minutes) before termination
• Local candidates within a 35-mile radius may be considered at a reduced travel rate
• Maximum of 5 days RTO may be requested during the assignment
• Former full-time McLaren employees are not eligible for contract hire within six months of their employment end date
