American Traveler is hiring a Speech-Language Pathologist for a Long Term Care position requiring MO licensure and CCC certification, with LTC or rehab experience preferred.

Details

• Long Term Care facility setting within the Speech Language Pathology unit
• Caseload typically includes 10-14 patients per day depending on evaluation volume
• Standard treatment sessions are approximately 30 minutes per patient
• Group therapy sessions are utilized to support productivity goals
• Each therapist is provided a dedicated device for documentation
• Day shift schedule, 8 hours, Monday through Friday
• Flexible start times between 6AM and 10AM as long as consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehab
• No weekend work required unless a holiday falls Monday through Friday, in which case hours may be made up on the weekend
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active MO state RN license or compact license required
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required per facility policy
• Minimum 1 year of SLP experience required
• New graduates accepted if Level II clinical experience was completed (Level I observation alone not sufficient)
• LTC or Rehab setting experience required
• 3 years of experience holding an active CCC preferred
• One professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for screening, evaluating, and treating patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
• Develops and adjusts individualized plans of care based on patient progress and evidence-based practice
• Communicates regularly with supervisors and interdisciplinary care team regarding patient progress and treatment plans
• Provides consultation and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers on speech-related disorders
• Prepares comprehensive discharge summaries in accordance with regulatory and clinical standards
• Documents all treatment services and minutes accurately in the electronic documentation system
• Participates in required facility meetings, trainings, and in-services
• May supervise and support Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or student SLPs
• Maintains adherence to ASHA and state practice standards and codes of conduct
• No more than 7 days of requested time off (RTO) permitted during the assignment
