Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a WA or compact license and at least one completed travel assignment for a nights position in a combined ACU/CCU unit.

Details

• 226-bed non-profit community hospital with 11 ICU beds
• Combined ACU/CCU unit caring for both ICU and telemetry patients
• Patient population includes CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, post-cath and some surgical (vascular, abdominal, GI) patients
• Manages drips including diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitro, and heparin
• 12-hour night shifts (1900-0730 or 0700-1930), 36 hours per week
• Every-other-weekend rotation required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to ICU level or below throughout the hospital
• Uses EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Experience with chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and monitoring femoral arterial sheaths required
• Experience with art lines, Impella, and/or IABP preferred
• Experience with blood product administration and BiPAP required

Additional Information

• Provide care for post-cath patients with TR bands and femoral approach, including femoral sheaths (travelers will not pull sheaths)
• Monitor and manage patients with CVA overflow
• Professional scrubs in any color are acceptable
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
