American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN-PACU for a high-acuity Level I Trauma Center teaching hospital position requiring 2 years of PACU experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Level I Trauma Center teaching hospital setting
• Phase I PACU, Phase II Recovery, and Pre-Post care
• High acuity PACU recovering kidney transplant, craniotomy, TAVR, spine surgery, ICU, and VATS patients
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Day/evening shifts scheduled as 3x12 hours (0630-1900, 0900-2100, 1000-2200, 1100-2330, or 1300-0130)
• Epic charting system required
• Ability to float to other UCSF facilities or units within a 75+ mile radius as needed

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
• BSN required
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• CCRN and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient high acuity PACU experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
• ICU experience a plus, especially SICU, CVICU, or Neuro ICU background
• Epic EMR experience required
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

• Recover post-surgical patients across a wide range of specialties including cardiac, neuro/spine, transplant, vascular, ortho, and thoracic cases
• Manage complex respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological care including ventilated patients, arterial lines, EVDs, and ICP monitoring
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation and manage emergency medications
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Accepts local candidates at the same rate as travel
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with full work history for rehire eligibility review
• All requested time off must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager; no RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Travel pairs allowed but generally not placed on the same unit
