American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with pediatric ED experience, requiring a CA RN license and 2+ years of ED experience.

• 13-week assignment in the Emergency Department
• Evening shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 15:00-03:30
• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Level I and Level II Trauma Center capabilities
• STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
• Epic charting system used
• Ability to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius if job specifications are met

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of submission
• BSN required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, NRP, OCN, SANE, and TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Pediatric ED experience required
• Community Hospital experience required
• Teaching Hospital experience preferred and must be noted in employment history
• Prior travel assignment experience within the last 12 months required
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in emergency care across pediatrics, psychiatric, IV therapy, respiratory, neurological, shock/trauma, cardiac monitoring, and orthopedic specialties
• Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required at time of consideration
• Proof of COVID vaccination and booster required, with no exceptions

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric emergencies
• Manage patients requiring advanced interventions such as ventilator care, chest tube management, ABG interpretation, and IV vasopressor administration
• Support hypothermia protocols and neuro-trauma cases including CVA and traumatic brain injury
• Complete non-billable training modules during pre-start and annually via the UC Learning system
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with full details for a rehire eligibility check
• All requested time off must be disclosed at time of submission and approved by the manager prior to offer
• No time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• No additional time off requests accepted once the contract begins
