Description

American Traveler is seeking a night shift ICU RN with ACLS and BLS certification for a busy Level 2 trauma center intensive care unit.

Details

• 29-bed general ICU within a Level 2 trauma center
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2, occasionally 1:3 for patients preparing to transfer out of ICU
• No CNAs on staff, one tele tech available
• Utilizes Aleris pumps, GE monitors, Edwards EV 1000 and CCO, Primaflex CRRT, and Cardiohelp ECMO equipment
• Charting completed in Meditech
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• Travelers float first to ED and step-down units
• On-call only required when census drops

Requirements

• Active RN license (ID or compact) required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC, NIHSS, and ABLS certifications welcomed but not required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Advanced skills required: ventilator management, ABG interpretation, vasoactive drip titration, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience with intubations, central line placement, bronchoscopies, and bedside trach/PEG tube placement
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing support in a high-acuity ICU with an active heart program performing about 200 cases per year
• Unit utilizes CRRT, Impella, IABP, and ECMO for advanced cardiac and respiratory support
• Facility includes a burn center that opened in April 2019
• Average ICU staff experience is 12 years, offering a highly experienced care team
• Navy blue scrubs required as part of dress code
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
