American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Orthopedics unit requiring NC or compact RN license and BLS certification with hospital and ortho experience preferred.

Details

• Work on a 32-bed Orthopedics unit (J6) within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Patient ratios of 5:1 (6:1 stretch) on day shift and 6:1 (7:1 stretch) on night shift
• Unit staffed with charge RNs, RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and a HUC per shift
• Uses equipment including walkers, bedside commodes, bladder scanners, CPM machines, Sky lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Lift, Maxi Move, vital sign machines, hover mats, and Bair Huggers
• EMR system is Cerner
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required to other Med-Surg units

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Hospital experience preferred
• Orthopedic nursing experience preferred
• Experience performing dressing changes, suture/staple removal, foley catheter care, NG tube management, and wound vac maintenance and removal

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to orthopedic surgery patients including post-surgical monitoring and wound care
• Team-oriented environment requiring adaptability in a fast-paced setting
• Navy scrubs required for RNs
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
• Candidates must be able to adapt to a collaborative, family-like care environment
