American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab RN with at least 1 year of cath lab experience (2 years for first-time travelers) and Cerner charting proficiency for a Level II Trauma community hospital.

Details

• Work in the Cath Lab department, with potential floating to Interventional Radiology when case load is low
• Day shift schedule of 5x8-hour shifts, with one late start (0800) per week
• On-call requirement of 1 night per week plus every 4th weekend call rotation
• Participation in late shift and on-call mandate rotation, including holiday on-call as needed by the department
• Works within a care team that may consist of 3-4 persons per room, with ability to function independently if only 3 are present
• Cerner charting system used

Requirements

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) required, may be pending at submission but must be active by start date
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of cath lab experience required, with previous travel cath lab experience for candidates with only 1 year of experience
• First-time travelers must have at least 2 years of cath lab experience
• Community hospital experience required
• Level II Trauma hospital experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Proficiency in cath lab procedures including diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, PCI, TAVR, Impella insertion, IABP placement/removal, and vascular closure systems
• Skilled in EP procedures such as cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, and AICD/pacemaker insertion is a plus

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab and EP lab settings
• Perform circulate procedures, sheath removal/monitoring, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Administer and monitor medications including antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and thrombolytics
• Assist with central line insertion, IV therapy, and blood product administration
• Scrubs provided in blue
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted; candidates requesting holiday RTO must be willing to work one of the three major holidays
• First-time travelers will be considered with sufficient cath lab experience
• Must be willing to float based on facility census and staffing needs
