American Traveler is hiring an RN - Telemetry for a Med/Surg unit requiring at least 2 years of RN Med/Surg experience and BLS/NIHSS certification.

Details

• Med/Surg unit at a Level IV Trauma Center with a Level III NICU and Primary Stroke Center
• Cares for all Med/Surg patient types
• Patient ratio averages up to 6 patients per nurse depending on staffing
• 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week from 19:30-07:30
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to any Med/Surg unit as assigned by the House Supervisor
• Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Supported by CNAs/Techs, HUC, RNs, Rapid Response Team, phlebotomy, Charge Nurse, and central telemetry monitoring with tele tech

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN Med/Surg experience required
• General Med/Surg skillset including traches, chest tubes, cardiac rhythm strip interpretation, Lasix/insulin/heparin drips, and wound vac management
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Candidate's middle name/initial, DOB, and last 4 of SSN required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

• Provide general Med/Surg nursing care within a supportive multidisciplinary team environment
• Facility-and-unit orientation is 1 shift
• Holiday coverage required for every other major holiday
• Scrubs must be any solid color with no logos

• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions
• Former employees of Advocate Health or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for a travel assignment
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved if the traveler is willing to extend the contract accordingly
