Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN with a KY or compact license and at least 2 years of PACU experience for a self-contained surgical unit specializing in lithotripsy and urologic procedures.

Details

• Work in a friendly, self-contained surgical unit with 6 pre/post beds and 2 ORs
• Average patient ratio of 2:1
• Common diagnoses include lithotripsy, cystoscopy, and TURP/TURBT procedures
• Administers medications such as Fentanyl, Versed, and Dilaudid
• Uses Epic EMR
• Day shift schedule from 7a-7p, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Call required, including one weekday 7p-11p shift and weekend on-call no more than every 6th week from 7a-7p Saturday and Sunday
• Surgical scrubs provided

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience required
• 2 years of PACU RN experience required
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Pre-op or circulator experience preferred
• Must be able to read telemetry and titrate medications
• Skilled in IV insertion, sedation management, trach care, and CBI

• Provide direct patient care in pre- and post-anesthesia phases within a surgical setting
• Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient plans of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient and family needs
• Mentor and precept licensed and non-licensed staff members
• Participate in quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives
• Comply with regulatory standards and organizational care models
