American Traveler is hiring a Pre-Op RN with at least 1 year of specialty experience and Epic EMR proficiency for a fast-paced surgical unit serving general, ortho, cardiac, and neuro patients.

Details

• Pre-Op unit within an acute care hospital with 320 staffed beds
• Cares for general surgery, orthopedic, cardiac, and neurological patients
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, with start times between 5:30 AM and 6:00 AM
• Monday through Friday scheduling with no weekends required
• No specific block or day scheduling requests accommodated
• No on-call requirements
• Facility may cancel shifts once per two-week pay period
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Royal blue scrubs required for RNs

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS certification required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Pre-op assessment, education, and medication administration skills required
• Experience with pre/post-operative care across multiple surgical specialties preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and line management preferred
• Knowledge of isolation precautions, pain management, and malignant hyperthermia protocol preferred
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide pre-operative nursing care including patient assessment, education, and medication reconciliation
• Perform pre/post-op procedures and obtain operative consents
• Support surgical specialties including plastics, ortho, neuro/spine, cardiac, GI, GU, and gynecology
• Work collaboratively within a well-rounded surgical team environment
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities in the area
• First-time travelers accepted only if they have 3+ years of specialty experience
• Former Providence employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates within a 50-mile radius may be considered at the local rate
• RTO must be submitted at time of application, with minimal flexibility post-submission
• Must be willing to commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
