American Traveler is hiring an experienced Behavioral Health RN for a float pool position requiring MD or compact RN licensure and prior psychiatric nursing experience.

Details

• Float pool role covering all 19 inpatient behavioral health units, including children, adolescent, and adult populations
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Float within scope to meet facility needs across all age populations
• May be required to serve as charge RN during shifts
• Uses Sunrise (Allscripts) EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD or Compact) required in-hand at time of consideration, temporary licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required, including at least 6 months to 1 year in a psychiatric/behavioral health setting
• BLS certification required
• Strong clinical judgement, assessment, delegation, and leadership skills required
• Experience in inpatient and locked unit treatment settings required
• Sunrise EMR experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across multiple behavioral health units, adapting to varying age populations as scheduling requires
• Fingerprinting must be completed in the state of Maryland via Livescan prior to start, with out-of-state candidates eligible for a deadline extension if receipt is provided
• Facility maintains a strict no-tolerance policy for marijuana, including medical marijuana cards, due to its addiction treatment focus
• All candidates must pass a drug screen on the first attempt to proceed with onboarding
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Orientations occur every other Thursday, with required documentation due two Mondays prior at noon EST
• One pre-approved RTO request allowed, submitted with initial profile
• Former permanent employees must wait one full year before applying for a travel position
